Envisalink EVL-3 and EVL-4 Programming for Honeywell Vista Systems

It is important that you create your EyezOn account and activate the module on the account before you connect it to the panel.
 
Overview
 
The EnvisaLink module will self-configure to work with the Vista panel once a few initial programming steps are completed.
  1. Activate the module on your EyezOn account. It is important that you select EnvisaLink 3 Honeywell during this step
  2. Physically install the module. Note: if you install it at a commercial site make sure they do not have outbound UDP blocked on the network or outbound TCP Port 4025.
  3. Confirm that the "LINK" LED is on solid on the EnvisaLink and wait 10 minutes and the "OPER" LED is flashing slowly
  4. After 10 minutes the "KEYB" LED should also be on solid. If it isn't please check your wiring
  5. Access the EnvisaLink local webpage (the one on the device itself) as noted in the Quick Start guide. Follow the steps in PART 1 on this page.
  6. Follow the steps in PART 2 on this page to program the panel options. Make sure to enable the keypad address on the panel that matches the value in the EnvisaLink from PART 1

*** Quick Setup *** if you are installing the EnvisaLink onto a simple, single partition Vista setup with no additional communicators on it and only 1 or 2 keypads existing then you can skip PART 1 of this page if in PART 2 you enable keypad 18 (*191) then follow steps 2 and 3 for communication setup.

PART 1: EnvisaLink 3 / Envisalink 4 Configuration
 
Please reference the Quick Start guide and access the EnvisaLink local page. Once there click the "home" tab at the top of the browser.
 
Partition 1 Keypad Selection
For partition 1, select the keypad address that the EnvisaLink will use to control partition 1. This can be from 17 to 23 representing keypads 2-8 respectively. Pick an address that is NOT already used on your system. Keypad 1, address 16, is reserved. Hit modify when you are done. Record this number for later use.
 
Partition 2 (if available) Keypad Selection
If you have a Vista 20P or 21P, and you use a second partition, you can enter the keypad address for the second partition at this time. Pick an address that is not already used. Record this number for later use. If you do not have a second partition you should enter 0 for the partition two keypad address.
 
IP/GSM/LRR Shadowing
The EnvisaLink 3 has the ability to work even if you already have an IP, GSM, or LRR module installed. This is done by a method called "shadowing". If you have such a module, and you have it enabled (*29 data field is set to 1), then click this check-box and hit modify. Failure to do this could result in both modules failing to operate correctly.

NOTE: If you DO NOT have an IP/GSM/LRR module installed and you check this checkbox, your EnvsaLink 3 will not function correctly.
 
PART 2: Honeywell Vista Configuration
 
Please have your Vista Installers manual handy to help with the following procedure.

Enter installers mode by entering your installers code followed by 800. You should see data field 20 shown on the LCD. Here are the steps to configure your Vista panel to work with the EnvisaLink 4
 
1 - Keypad Setup
You must enable the keypad addresses you selected in the previous section for the panel to recognise them. Go to the section for the keypad you selected for Partition 1 (*190 to *196 for keypads 2 to 8 respectively). In this field, enter 1 to enable this keypad on partition 1. The next option is for sound suppression, enter 0.
If you have a Vista 20 or 21, and you have a second partition enabled in the previous section, go to that keypad's data entry section and instead of entering 1 for the partition, enter 2.
 
2 - IP/GSM/LRR Setup
If you DO NOT already have a special communications module installed, you must enable support for this in section 29. If you do have a module installed, then skip this step but make sure you have enabled "shadowing" in the previous section.
Go to section 29 by entering *29, and hit 1 to enable LRR support.
 
3 - Communications Setup
Go to the following sections, and program them as indicated (Note: this is for Sole Communicator setups, you may need to specify different settings if you have more than one communicator enabled):
  • *48 - Contact ID. Use the default, Contact ID 4 by setting *48 to 77
  • *49 - Split/Dual report. *49, should be set to 5 to enable both communicators getting events
  • *50 - Burglar Dialer Delay (optional). The default is [2,0] which causes a 30 second delay until an alarm event is sent out. If you want the event to be sent out with no delay then set this to [0,0].
  • *54 - Dynamic Signalling. You should turn off the dynamic signalling delay by making *54 to 0
  • *55 - Communicator Priority. Put the reporting priority to, *55, to 1 to make sure the Envisalink gets the event first

NOTE: Please ensure that for each zone in your system the reporting code is NOT set to 00. If they are you will not receive alarm events.
 
4 - Reporting Options
In order to receive alerts, you need to program your panel to send the alerts. All reports are optional so only enable the ones you want to see. Remember, you can always suppress reporting of reports on the alerting server so we recommend enabling all reports.
Go to the following sections and program them with 11, or keep hitting 1 until your hear three beeps from the keypad.
  • *59 - Exit Error Reporting
  • *60 - Trouble Reporting
  • *61 - Bypass Reporting
  • *62 - AC Loss Reporting
  • *63 - Low Battery Reporting
  • *65 - Openings (disarming) Report
  • *66 - Closings (arming) Report
  • *67 - RF Low Battery Reporting
  • *68 - Cancel (opening after alarm) Reporting
  • *70 - Alarm Restorals Reporting
  • *71 - Trouble Restorals Reporting
  • *72 - Bypass Restorals Reporting
  • *73 - AC Fail Restoral Reporting
  • *74 - Low-Bat Restoral Reporting
  • *75 - RF Low-Bat Restoral Reporting
5 - Exit Programming and Test
Once all the sections are programmed, leave installers mode by entering *99 on the keypad.
You should test that your programming was correct by going to your local EnvisaLink web page and try to arm the system from the web page by entering your user code. If that is successful, you should then log into your EyezOn account and under events, you should see an event indicating a closing (arming) of your system.
