Insteon i3 Device Support with Insteon and UDI ISY994 / EISY Hubs
Insteon is now shipping i3 devices. These i3 devices can be used with other Insteon devices or with smart hubs. The Insteon Hub supports the i3 devices natively.
Universal Devices ISY994 hubs are end of life and no new features or devices support are being added. They will stop receiving (free) technical support in June 2024 as of writing.
Insteon i3 support is being built into the current UDI hub called EISY which can support Insteon, ZWave, Zigbee with future planned support for Matter, with appropriate interfaces added. The EISY requires a PLM for Insteon support. Older 2413S may be used but a serial to USB adapter cable will have to be built. We do not offer this adapter. Our recommendation is to buy a 2413U USB PLM as it is a newer version with more memory, more processing power and some improvements to design over old PLMs.
