System Sensor 2012J Manufacture Date and Warranty

While the System Sensor 2012J (2012JA) smoke detectors carry a 3 year manufacturer's warranty from the date of manufacture.  While the warranty may expire, as per the user manual, users should aim to replace them after 10 years of use.  This is true of most smoke detectors not just System Sensor.  Smoke detectors should be tested regularly and replaced when they fail.  Please note that the current generation 2012J was last manufactured in 2024 and newer models are not available from any source.  System Sensor expects to release a new model some time in 2026.
