Uniview UNV Deactivating Grey Market Products in EZCloud

As of Friday, May 9, 2025, Uniview / UNV has removed from their EZCloud US servers all devices identified as "grey market" products—specifically, units that were not intended for the North American market but were nonetheless registered and activated through EZCloud.  These serial numbers were originally designated for the Chinese domestic market and were not authorized for international distribution or support. Despite this, some of these products were imported into Canada through unauthorized resellers and activated via the global platform.   UNV has now enforced region-specific compliance, resulting in the removal of these unauthorized devices from their cloud service.

If you have affected units please submit a support ticket with details so we can review and determine next steps.

Note that Uniview warranty is only valid and supported on purchases through from an authorized distributor and is invalidated for grey market products that were sourced through unauthorized channels.  Aartech Canada will not provide warranty or technical support for products purchased elsewhere.

What This Means:

  • Impacted devices can no longer access or be managed via EZCloud (including remote management, mobile app access, and other cloud features).
  • Clients using these devices may experience service disruption if their systems relied on EZCloud functionality.
  • Warranty may not be valid

Next Steps & Mitigation Plan:
  1. Verification:
Installers and distributors are encouraged to submit a list of affected serial numbers for verification.
  2. Replacement Options:
Aartech may assist in providing suitable replacement optionsHard drives (HDDs) do not need to be replaced.
  3. UNV Rebate Program:
UNV will offer a 20% rebate for the return and replacement of affected units/serial number (advanced authorization required)
