HDCVI over CAT5 or CAT6 using Baluns

HDCVI over CAT5 or CAT6 using Baluns

It has been common practice for several  years, to use BALUNS to run analog camera feeds over CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 cable.  With the introduction of AHD, HDCVI, and other high definition over coax products, it is advisable to use a Balun specifically designed for high definition products.  Cheaper or standard baluns may introduce interference or noise in the video feed.  High definition baluns tend to do a much better job of eliminating this interference.

Another culprit can be power or more specifically the same power supply for multiple cameras.  In some cases interference can be removed/avoided by using individual power supplies for each camera to reduce the 'ground loop' effect caused by shared power.
