Can a Browser be used to view IP Cameras or NVR
On the surface, using a web browser may seem like a decent way to view an IP camera system but camera manufacturers stopped supporting browser viewing back in the days of Internet Explorer which is discontinued and not safe any longer. Modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari don't support the type of plug-in that used to be used. The fact is that camera viewing on a browser was always a pretty basic experience. Today the way to go is to use the IP Camera or NVR manufacturer's iOS, iPadOS, Android, Windows or Mac software instead. The quality, speed and functionally is way better this way. All of our major brands like Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview UNV, WatchNET, Acti, etc have apps available.
